Broadway Dental Celebrates National Children's Dental Health Month

02.06.14

Denison, Iowa - February is National Children's Dental Health Month and Broadway Dental is teaming up with the American Dental Association (ADA) to celebrate. The campaign is a collaborative effort encompassing several promotional initiatives to help raise awareness about the importance of oral health in children. Nationally, it brings together thousands of dental professionals, care givers, children and adults alike to promote developing good dental habits at an early age.

Locally, Broadway Dental will be sharing informative pieces across many platforms including newspaper ads, Public Service Announcements and radio spots, as well as making educational presentations at local schools. Attendees at these presentations will learn about a variety of ways to keep teeth clean and healthy, including the ADA's "2min2x" brushing recommendations. Broadway Dental staff and kid-friendly mascot, Gene the Giraffe, will also be part of several aspects of the campaign.

Additionally, Broadway Dental will be holding a coloring contest in conjunction with their Children's Dental Health Month activities. The coloring contest entry sheet can be picked up at both the Denison and Woodbine office locations or is available for download on Broadway Dental's website and Facebook page. Submissions will be voted upon by a panel of community members and winners will be awarded prizes, with the grand prize being a Sonicare for Kids toothbrush.

"Teeth are meant to last a lifetime, and a healthy smile is important to a child's self-esteem," said Dr. Doug Soseman. "With proper care, a balanced diet and regular dental visits, their teeth can remain healthy and strong."
